Commercial solar: roof, canopy and ground mount

Offset daytime loads and cap your exposure to rising utility rates for 25 years or more. ecojiva has installed more than 800 commercial systems from 20 kW rooftops to 1.2 MW orchard portfolios.

Solar PV

Three ways to mount it, one way to deliver it

We design around your roof structure, parking footprint and available land, then handle utility interconnection, permitting, procurement, installation, commissioning and monitoring.

Solar roof mount

Solar roof mount

Large flat and low-slope commercial roofs are the most common commercial solar site. Ballasted or attached racking, structural review included, no penetrations where the roof warranty requires it.

Parking lots become generating assets that also shade vehicles and host EV charging. Ideal for offices, dealerships, schools and healthcare campuses with limited roof area.

Solar ground mount

Solar ground mount

Often the highest-ROI option where land is available: optimal tilt and orientation, easy maintenance and room to scale. Pile-driven or ballasted foundations for farms and industrial sites.

The ecojiva difference

Solar that is designed to be controlled

A solar array with no control strategy exports energy at noon and leaves the 5 pm demand peak untouched. Every ecojiva solar project is delivered with ecoSEMS monitoring and can be upgraded to full ecoDMT™ demand management, so the array reduces both the energy and the demand portions of the bill.

  • Production modeling against your real 15-minute interval data
  • Net metering, VDER and distributed-generation tariff analysis by state
  • Storage-ready DC or AC coupling for future battery addition
  • Performance guarantee backed by live monitoring
Scope

What you get

Engineering & design

PVsyst production modeling, structural and electrical engineering, and a financial model built on your actual tariff and interval data.

Utility interconnection

Applications, studies and agreements with DTE, Consumers, AEP, ComEd, National Grid, Con Edison, Eversource, PSE&G and every other utility in our footprint.

Storage-ready design

DC- or AC-coupled designs so battery storage can be added whenever the model shows it pays.

Installation

Our own crews and vetted regional partners, OSHA-compliant, with commissioning to IEC/NEC standards and utility witness testing.

Monitoring & O&M

Production monitoring through ecoSEMS, performance guarantees, preventive maintenance and rapid response service.

Financing

Cash, lease, power purchase agreement (PPA) and C-PACE where available. See Financing & PPA.

FAQ

Questions

How big a system does my facility need?

Commercial systems are sized against your consumption, roof or land area and the utility’s net metering or distributed generation cap, which ranges from 150 kW to 5 MW depending on the state. The free energy model gives you the right size and the payback.

What is the payback on commercial solar?

In the Northeast, where commercial rates run 18–30 cents per kWh, paybacks of 4–7 years are common. In the Midwest, paybacks are typically 6–10 years and improve substantially when solar is paired with ecoSEMS demand management, because solar alone does not reduce demand charges.

Does solar reduce my demand charge?

Only partially and unpredictably, because clouds and evening peaks do not line up with production. That is why ecojiva pairs solar with ecoDMT™ demand management and, where justified, battery storage.
