EV charging

EV charging for fleets, dealerships and workplaces

Chargers are simple to buy and easy to regret. A row of DC fast chargers can double a building’s demand charge. ecojiva engineers EV charging as part of your energy system, with ecoSEMS managing charging against your peak and your solar.

Load-managed charging

Charge without buying a bigger utility service

Managed charging, solar canopies and storage let most sites add substantial charging capacity without a costly service upgrade or a new demand peak.

Level 2 workplace & fleet

Depot and employee charging with scheduled, load-managed sessions that fill overnight or on solar.

DC fast charging

50–350 kW chargers for dealerships, fleets and public sites, buffered by battery storage where the service is limited.

Solar canopies

Parking canopies that generate the energy the chargers consume and shade the vehicles beneath them.

Utility make-ready programs

Michigan, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and other states fund infrastructure through utility EV programs; we apply for you.

Program applications

ecojiva identifies and applies for the utility and public programs your chargers and canopy qualify for.

ecoSEMS integration

Chargers become controllable loads in the same platform that manages your HVAC, refrigeration and storage.

FAQ

Questions

Will EV chargers increase my demand charge?

Unmanaged, yes, and sharply. With ecoSEMS load management, charging is scheduled and throttled so the site peak does not move, and solar or storage can supply the energy.

Which utility EV programs are available?

Most major utilities in our footprint run commercial make-ready or rebate programs, including DTE and Consumers Energy in Michigan, ComEd in Illinois, Con Edison and National Grid in New York, PSE&G in New Jersey and Eversource in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Availability and funding change each year; the state pages summarize the current status.
